About Dr. Jim
CEO, Instructional Coaching Group
I’ve been working with Nicky for 30 years. Every single occasion I work with her, I learn so much. She’s so professional and she’s knowledgeable. She knows exactly where I am as a leader in the school and where our school is and she always works with us to make sure we do our jobs as best as we can so that we can support all our lovely tamariki for them to do the best they can in life.
Often credited as the originator of the term ‘instructional coaching’, Jim Knight is Senior Partner of the Instructional Coaching Group (ICG) and a research associate at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning. He has spent more than two decades studying professional learning and instructional coaching.
He has written several books on instructional coaching including Instructional Coaching: A Partnership Approach to Improving Instruction (2007), Unmistakable Impact: A Partnership Approach for Dramatically Improving Instruction (2011), High-Impact Instruction (2013), Focus on Teaching (2014), Better Conversations (2015), The Impact Cycle (2018), and The Definitive Guide to Instructional Coaching (2021).
